For those who are interested in PVP, I stumbled accross
THIS today.
The news might be a week old, but it looks like there is going to be a severe overhaul to how PVP works. This will all be based around the addition of a "Tenacity" stat to PVP gear.
The general point of this seems pretty reasonable but I fear this could force a lot of people away from the game.
My main concerns with this, are that everyone in the game will have the same PVP gear. PVP is already a pretty specialised section of the game but you can at least spec a character which performs well in both PVP & PVE. With this change, you will need at least 2 full sets of gear.
As things stand, there is enough nuance to the game to make most of the paragon paths viable on each class. You match your Paragon path to your armour/build and away you go. With this change, I can see that there will be a lot of carbon copies in PVP. There will just be "the best" setup for each class.
I plan to have a tinker on the test shard to see how this feels and I will update with my findings.
Fingers crossed they have more than just this planned when they overhaul PVP. We need new maps, new modes and if this change goes ahead as planned, we need more varied PVP armour sets.
Any thoughts on this from the rest of you would be greatly appreciated
EDIT: After a quick look it seems that the PVP Armour is the only stuff with the Tenacity stat. So if anyone wants to PVP after this update, we should get some Guild Gauntlglgrym groups together for GrymCoin farming. If we do it right, I would estimate it taking around 10-13 runs through GG for the full set. Co-ordinated fast runs of Fardelver Crypt should get us a good T1 gear drops for the Bank too.
If we get organised before the update it won't be as much of a problem.
